Family Homecare Aides

Caring for people at home and in the community avoids more costly long-term care placement, supports health and well-being and reduces the strain on our economy. Employees are caring for older adults in the community while also contributing to their communities and the workforce.

Once a senior has been assessed and determined eligible for services, they are a participant of the IL Dept. on Aging's Community Care Program.

Participants are often more comfortable having a family member provide their care and are offered the choice of assigning their family member as their paid homecare aide.

The family member should call Alpha In-Home Services to discuss their hiring process with a supervisor. It is important to note that a family member who is a legally responsible (spouse, guardian, person(s) with POA and representative payees) to the participant, cannot be their paid family homecare aide per the IL Dept. on Aging policies.
